ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
The Friends of the Library is a group – made up of every day patrons and advocates just like you – that is passionate about our library.
OUR MISSION
Building awareness and resources to champion Columbus Metropolitan Library’s vitality in the community.
WHAT WE SUPPORT
We provide reach and resources beyond what the library can do on its own. We work closely with library leadership and staff in every branch to determine where our support can make a difference. That’s why the Friends are proud to fund critical programs such as Summer Reading Club, Homework Help Centers and Teen Read Week that are major touchstones of the library experience. We also support campaigns for the levies which provide public funding for the library.
OUR BOARD
Our volunteer board members are elected, serve three-year terms and oversee all Friends-related activities and expenditures. Committees focused on finances, communications, membership recruitment and special projects organize the work of the board, and build its relationships with the library and the community.
